Ten Days in Sydney - Day Eight, Nine and Ten
Today we went Whale Watching in Sydney Harbour. We had a two hour cruise and saw lots of whales or the same one lots of times. It was awesome and I took over 200 photos, I won't bore you with all of them. Then we went to Doyle's at Watsons Bay for a leisurely lunch.
We were watching for water spouts from the whales. There she blows.
Up and over and with the splash of her tail she was gone. Wow, wow, wow.
We both had seafood chowder. So yummy.
Lovely decor at Doyle's with some of the hanging baskets.
Along from Doyle's was this cute little gate with a seahorse.
The Doyle's Dingy.
Day Nine and Ten we went shopping to Castle Towers, then on Saturday we went to the DFO at Homebush. I didn't take any photos of the shopping, but we had a wonderful time in all the shops.
Sunday we went for breakfast at the Brook Eatery before travelling to the airport via La Perouse. We didn't have time to stop there but as we flew out of Sydney we went over La Perouse and could see Bare Island.
Bare Island from the air. It's on our to do list for the next time we are in Sydney.
Ten Days in Sydney - Day Seven.
Today we went to Katoomba and the Blue Mountains to see the Three Sisters. We caught lots of trains and buses to reach our destination high in the mountains. We caught the Hop on Hop off bus and did a lot of walking. The weather was a bit cooler but the sun was shining and it was a great day.
Train station at Katoomba.
The Signal Box at the train station.
We hopped off the bus and walked along the track to see the Three Sisters.
Then back on the bus to Scenic World to travel on the
Sky Cable Car over the Jamison Valley.
Another view of the Three Sisters.
The Railway Car arriving at the station.
This is the original railway car used in 1933 when the tourist side got busy.
Entrance to the Katoomba Coal Mine which closed in 1903.
We saw a Lyre Bird.
Waiting for our ride back to the top on the Cable Way.
It was difficult to take photos as there were so
many people in the queues and the lookouts etc.
We were lucky it wasn't peak season as it does get busier then.
