All the fun of the Fair.

We went to the Exeter Show on Saturday 23rd February.  It was a lovely sunny day and we spent a couple of hours wandering around the show.

Side Show Alley.

The Haunted House.

Bouncy Castle and Slide.

Gravelly Beach Fire Brigade display.

Zorb Balls.

We watched the equestrian events.

There were wood chopping competitions.

There was a man playing the piano with flames shooting up.

There were trucks and cars on display.

And I bought a Bertie Beetle showbag.  My favourite :-)

St Valentine's Day 2019

We didn't do anything special on Valentine's Day as it was a busy week day, however I was very spoilt with a beautiful bunch of flowers.

My beautiful red roses with liliums.

We watched Picnic at Hanging Rock, which is set on St Valentine's Day in 1900.
I've bought the book too.

On 19th  February there was a super moon.

Photo of the super moon taken from our front yard.

And the space shuttle flew over too.

A weekend in Melbourne

We stayed in the Mecure on Spring Street in Melbourne, close to the shops, circle tram, and AAMI Park.  The weather was up to 40 degrees during the day, but we had a really wonderful time.

The view from our room at night.

We discovered the Mess Hall in Bourke Street, just around the corner from our Hotel.

Flowers in the window.

Reading the menu.

I ordered the poached eggs on mint peas with smoked salmon.  Yummo!

Richard ordered the scrambled eggs with mushrooms and bacon.
It was so lovely there we went back for dinner that night and again for breakfast the next day.

A fountain in one of the parks.

We went to the Queen Victoria Market.

There were lots stalls.

Some of the buildings around Melbourne.

AAMI Park.

Nice car.

Traffic was busy.

More tall buildings.

It was a great holiday weekend, but it's been nice to come home to the cooler weather.

Phil Collins in concert at AAMI Park.

We splurged and bought tickets for the Phil Collins Concert at AAMI Park on 2 February 2019.  To say it was totally AWESOME is an understatement.

Waiting in anticipation.

One of the photos displayed before the show got underway.

Phil Collins walking on stage with the aide of a walking stick.

Phil sat through most of the concert, he was totally amazing.

The backing singers.

Some more of the band.

Some of the light displays, went from hot pink to ....

lime green.

Leland Sklar who has been performing with Phil Collins for ever.

And Nicholas Collins, Phil's 17 year old son.  What an amazing drummer.
Like father, like son.

A day in the Dandenong Ranges

We had a lovely long weekend in Victoria, we did a bit of touring in the Dandenong Ranges on the Friday, it was a lovely sunny day catching up with friends and checking out the little country towns.

Morning Tea at Miss Marples Tearooms

Too hot to light a fire in the quaint fireplace.

Awesome scones with jam and cream.

Pie in the sky.  Not hungry enough to go in.

Lovely old style buildings in the Dandenong Ranges.

Lovely weatherboard home/shop.

Coombe Winery - former home of Dame Nelly Melba.

We did some wine tasting.

Lots of shady outdoor seating.

Just a small selection available at the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie.

A wonderful selection of ice cream flavours.

More yummy chocolates.

We stopped at Napoleone Winery in the Yarra Valley for a refreshing glass.

We had a wonderful relaxing time in the Yarra Valley / Dandenong Ranges before heading into Melbourne to find our accommodation.

I never get tired of this view.

We moved to Blackwall 16 years ago.  And I never get tired of the ever changing views from our front window. Beautiful afternoon sunset glow...
