Lion's Mane mushroom kit.

We bought a mushroom kit to grow a Lion's Mane mushroom.

We start with a plastic bag of magic tricks, cut a
hole in the front and mist with water once a day.

After a few days it grows so quickly.

And then it's ready to harvest.

The Lion's Mane mushroom grows quite big.

Then you slice it up.

Fry the slices in oil and butter.

All nicely cooked.

Ready to eat with beef with black bean sauce and salad.  So tasty.
There was even enough mushroom for a second meal the next night.

Valentine's Day 2022

We spent a quiet Valentine's Day being a work day, with little treats and flowers.  It feels nice to be appreciated.

Jelly fruit, the strawberries look like little hearts.

Little treats.

My little heart shape trinket box.

Cornucopia.  The best cider ever.

Beef and reef for tea.

My beautiful roses.

Spoilt with orchids too.

A week in Longford

We have just spent the last week working in Longford where I have been delivering letters.  I have a lovely 7km round walk every day, which is sometimes challenging in the summer heat.  There are some very lovely cottages and gardens that I walk past.  Here are just a few.

After leaving the Post Office I walk past the Anglican church.

One of the entry ways into the lovely shady garden for the church.

Past the cemetery.

The Longford Primary School

There are some really lovely cottages and gardens in Longford.

Pretty red door on this cottage.

Beautiful roses in this garden.

Another lovely cottage and garden all renovated.

Really pretty Dalias in this garden.

Old farm house at the end of Burghley Street.

Pretty sunflowers.

Very nice little cottage and garden.

Lovely red poppies in Longford.  I took this photo in
November when I was working their last time.

I enjoy working in Longford, it is such a pretty little town.

Chinese New Year

Happy Chinese New Year - the year of the Tiger.

I have a few Chinese decorations that I like to put up for Chinese New Year.  It's just a bit of fun.

My Chinese Dragon keyring.

Chinese figurines - Men carrying water buckets.

Chinese style doll.

Stir fry beef with mushrooms.

Mongolian Lamb with special fried rice.

Chocolate koi carp.

Chinese pandas with lucky money packets.

A nice way to celebrate Chinese New Year with some yummy Chinese meals.

I never get tired of this view.

We moved to Blackwall 16 years ago.  And I never get tired of the ever changing views from our front window. Beautiful afternoon sunset glow...
