Summer in Westbury 2024

We have just worked in Westbury for the last two days.  The first day it rained all the time we were there, however, today was a lovely sunny day.

There are a few silhouettes around Westbury with information about it's history.

This silhouette is at the cricket ground.
This one is about Jack Badcock who toured England in 1938 with Donald Bradman.

The railway line at the end of the street.

Although we had rain it's still very dry.

This silhouette is about Captain John Peyton Jones who arrived in Van Diemen's Land in 1829 and was posted to Eagle Hawk Neck in the Military Guard.  He posted a chain line of savage dogs to prevent prisoners from escaping from Port Arthur.

The other postie out delivering letters.

A horse statue in a garden.

All the flowers on the ground like confetti.

This silhouette is about the Irish Exiles who were transported to Van Diemen's Land.

Country view.

Old machinery in an old shed.

Stain glass window in Adelaide Street.

A crow sitting on the gate.

Lovely old building in Westbury.

Random front door.

Some of the lovely old trees in the Village Green.

Silhouette of Ellen Nora Payne who had connection with St Andrews Church in Westbury.
