Hanging Rock - Woodend

We flew to Melbourneon the early flight on 21 November and picked up our hire car to go to Nagambie.  We stopped off at Hanging Rock on the way.  We picked the wrong day as it was cold and rainy and trying to snow, and the walking trails up to Hanging Rock were closed.  So was the cafe.  We had a walk around and through the information section, which was new from the last time we were at Hanging Rock.  I enjoyed the movie and the book of Picnic at Hanging Rock set on St Valentines Day in 1900.

Driving through the countryside.

Our first view of Hanging Rock.

The sign on the Cafe door.

Looking for Miranda.

I found her - you might need to read the book.

Hanging Rock through the gum trees.

More of Hanging Rock through the trees.

Another view of Hanging Rock as we were leaving.

An echidna crossing the road.

We saw some granite boulders along the way.

There are quite a lot of them in the area.

Nearly to Nagambie.
