Bicheno Beams

We had a lovely couple of days in Bicheno to see the Bicheno Beams, and just have a relaxing time.  The weather was quite nice for winter and we enjoyed our time on the East Coast.

We had a cold frosty start on our way to Bicheno with a chilly -4.

The sunrise on our way along the Midland Highway.

The sun just showing over the mountains.

The Hazards from Great Oyster Bay lookout.

Picnic Island at Coles Bay.

Long shadows in the morning sunlight.

We stopped a the Freycinet Marine Farm for lunch.

Yummy oyster kilpatrick.

We went for a walk at Friendly Beaches.  Beautiful white sandy beach.

The colourful rocks at Bicheno.

The Blowhole was putting on a great display.

Some of the Beams from the laser display.

The photos don't do it justice.

The video doesn't really do it justice either but you get a better idea.

We went whale watching and found surfers at Shelly Point.

Seafood Platter at the Lobster Shack in Bicheno.

Pelicans near the Bluff at Bicheno.

We walked to the top of the Whalers Lookout.

No whales, but we could see the seals on the rocks from the Lookout.

A few more beams.
