June Long Weekend 2021

 Today we spent a couple of hours to ourselves and went to see the Lilydale Falls, the disused railway tunnel at Tunnel, and we were on the look out for Dr. Who.

We have had some rainy weather recently so the path to the waterfall was wet and slippery.

Well worth the walk to the Lilydale falls.

Some of the pathway was boardwalk through the manferns.

Then we drove to Tunnel to see the Tunnel.  We walked along the disused railway line.

The date on the railway tunnel is 1888.

Lunch at Rupert & Hound with Smeds

We had a totally wonderful catch up with friends from Victoria on Sunday 28th February.  We met up at Rupert & Hound restaurant at the Sea Port for lunch and then a walk around the area and to the Silo Hotel for a little drink.  Rupert & Hound is now my new favourite restaurant and I will need to go back there soon.

The day went too quickly and it is our 

turn to travel to visit them really soon.

Lunch at Pyengana

We had a trip to Scottsdale for work the other day, so we continued along the road to go to Pyengana for a bit of lunch and then a little way along the road to see the St Columba Falls.  Such a lovely day for a drive.

We stopped at the Dragon Trail cemetery at Moorina to read

 about the Chinese tin miners that had lived and died in the area. 

The Derby area has such a rich history of the Chinese tin miners.  

The Joss House was moved from the area to the Launceston Museum 

due to the dwindling numbers of Chinese in the area.

Valentine's Day 2021

 We spent a quiet day at home for Valentine's Day.
