Road Trip - Day 1

We had a good crossing on the Spirit of Tasmania from Devonport to Geelong arriving on Thursday 25th September.  The weather was good and the ride was comfortable, which was good as we have a long way to travel, eventually arriving in Hervey Bay in a few days time.  In total I took over 4000 photos, some better than others as I usually click away while we are travelling at the speed limit, and we travelled 5000kms.  It was epic and so much fun.

First stop was a Heathcote to Gaffney's Bakery to meet up with Steve and Sandy.  We went to the Shiraz Republic for the afternoon for a stroll in the Canola Fields and then a glass of Shiraz and Lemon Spritzer and a pizza for a late lunch.

All lined up ready to ride onto the Spirit with the other motorbikes.

The beginning of our Road Trip.

The fields of canola were everywhere in Victoria on our way to Heathcote.

We stopped to stretch our legs.

Back in the saddle through the country roads in Victoria.

We crossed over the Redesdale Bridge built in 1867 over the Campaspe River.

Massive kangaroo hopping away from us.

We arrived in Heathcote early so we went of a walk.
There are so many historic buildings along the main street.

The Old Commercial Bank building.

The Old Mechanics Institute.

We stopped a Gaffney's Bakery for a cappuccino and to wait for Steve and Sandy.

The lovely Blue and White tins on display.  But I didn't have room on the bike to buy one.

A rusty old vintage car went past.

Follow that blue car.

Off to Shiraz Republic for the Canola Walk.

Canola for as far as you can see.

Sandy and Steve.

Canola in every direction.

Totally amazing fun catching up with Steve and Sandy,
walking through the Canola.

A selfie.

A glass of Shiraz Spritzer - so refreshing.

And pizza.

We drove through Rushworth to see the painted Silos.

The Rotunda at Rushworth.

A couple of gorgeous little birds made from seed pods.  Too cute.
